Who am I?: I’m Will McDonald, a UMD Journalism student. I question things constantly and may draw some unfounded conclusions.
My Lake Voice position:
Copy editor. I make sure we are: following AP style, citing all your sources, spelling correctly, making the story flow and also double checking the links. Copy editors may not always be liked for their criticism to an author's work, but a good copy editor would generally be able to navigate around controversy when confronting disagreements.
What interests me?
I caught the sports bug at a young age. That bug hindered me from being exposed to what was happening in the rest of the world. I’m branching out a little now and I’m curious about how the community feels on issues pertaining to sports among other things.
Why Duluth?
Duluth is a great small-big town. It’s picturesque. It has a good level of athletics, which includes a Division-1 hockey team. It is very diverse, which will allow me to gauge different opinions and understand why people feel so strongly one way or another.
