My name is Kelsey Marier and I am a senior at UMD majoring in Journalism and minoring in Arts and Media. I am a member of Phi Sigma Sigma international sorority, the president of Attitudes Dance Association as well as a group fitness instructor on campus through RSOP. My dream has always been to become a broadcast journalist someday, so that is what I’m striving for with my major and I’ve enjoyed it ever since. When I’m not obsessing over school, I enjoy spending time with my roommates, friends, and family when I’m able to, as well as spending time outdoors and being active.
My Lake Voice Position: Social Media/Marketing
What interests me?
As I am particularly interested in broadcast news, getting the chance to create videography for LakeVoice through my stories on the history, background and sentimental values of the streets and neighborhoods of Duluth will allow me to further myself in the broadcast journalism world, as well as getting to know the community with which I live in. Why Duluth?
The main reason I chose Duluth was for the beauty of the city and getting the chance to live on Lake Superior. Along with wanting to be a little farther away from home, I appreciate that Duluth is an active city, providing people with numerous opportunities to be outdoors as well as to enjoy the entertainment within the city lights.
