My Beat: I like to write about present events that happen in Duluth. I love writing about new restaurants, shops and activities found in Duluth, especially the downtown area. I choose to write a lot of my articles focusing on places/people in the downtown area because there is always something new going on that someone would be interested in reading about.

My Job: I am apart of the Community Involvement team at Lake Voice. I thought this position would be a good fit for me because I get to learn aspects from my field of communication and also getting the chance to write stories that interest me and stories that I think interest the community. My job is expanding my knowledge academically while getting to express my interests and reach personal goals.

My Story: I am a senior here at UMD, majoring in communication and minoring in journalism. It was around the beginning of my sophomore year that I realized I love to write, so that is why I chose journalism as my minor along the way. I will be graduating in May 2014 and could not be more excited to see what comes next.

When I am not studying, I like to spend my free time hanging out with my five roommates and my boyfriend. I love to cook new recipes all the time and I love going out in the city and trying new beers from the local breweries. Burrito Union is my second home.
