Runners participated in a three-mile walk/run/crawl in memory of Bradley E. Rozman to raise money for youth musicians.
The event took place the afternoon of Oct. 5 and continued on into the night with plenty of beer, music and whitey tighties.
Rozman was an area musician who died in May of 2009.
“We used to call him Bradley Briefs,” said friend and event organizer Melissa Maki. “It was a Brad thing. He wore them even when they were uncool and everyone else was wearing boxers.
“Brad had such a great sense of humor, and the briefs are all part of making the event goofy and silly -- trying to really capture the essence of Brad.”
Participants received a 4-ounce beer sample and live music at every stop. All of the money raised will be donated to the Duluth Music Resource Center, Friends of Brad scholarship and other charitable programs.
This was the fifth annual Brad Fest. The event used to be a weekend-long event in Two Harbors, but with new breweries popping up in Duluth, organizers saw an opportunity they couldn’t miss.
“The local breweries love the cause,” Maki said. “All of the musicians donate their time.”
Nine local breweries and 15 local musicians were involved in this year’s event.
