Unconventional path: Tischer Creek in the spring

IMG_1702 In preparation for the Five3Duluth event on May 3, 2014, I decided to traverse of a bit of trail which I have always loved. The Tischer Creek (or Congdon Creek depending on who you ask) trail may begin on Vermillion Rd and go on down to East Superior St, but I've followed it many times past there and all the way down to the Glensheen property down on the lakefront. The area, having fell into disrepair after the flooding in the summer of 2012, is still wealth of adventurous hiking and exploration. These pictures document a walk I took on April 25, 2014 as I traveled down the stream on both sides. Each picture explains a bit of what I saw and my thoughts on it all.

If getting wet, dirty, sweaty, and tired is your cup of tea, then I'd suggest you try out the Tischer Creek trail. Be sure to join in the fun of Five3Duluth. On May 3, take a picture of yourself doing something fun and hashtag it with #five3duluth, then check back to LakeVoice News to see what the Duluth community has all been up to.
