Time to get your last licks in. Super Premium Ice Cream may not be available for much longer. With the leaves changing and winter right around the corner this seasonal business may not leave its doors open much longer.
According to Craig Binsfield, owner of the London Road shop, he said that he hopes the store will remain open until Halloween. Binsfield said he wants to have a Halloween special for children and trick-or-treat away some of the remaining ice cream. However, if the weather doesn't cooperate the store may close sooner, and the business will reopen next spring.
Super Premium, owned by Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, is the only Duluth location. The chain was founded in 1962 in Madison, Wis. and has over 300 independently owned locations across the country.
Chocolate Shoppe prides itself on offering ice cream made with natural ingredients, such as natural cane sugar and hormone free dairy.
"It's not low-fat, low-calorie or low-anything, and that's why everyone loves it," according to the Chocolate Shoppe website.
