In the late 1800s Raleigh Street was a dirt road known as “Two Street.” Originally, the street was part of a West Duluth village, which became united with the city of Duluth in 1894, and the little street was renamed Raleigh Street in 1895. The 1900s brought on a thriving community, but Raleigh Streeters also faced war, prohibition, and the Great Depression.
